BISHOP JOHN AELEN PROVINCE

Bishop John Aelen Illam, 63/1 Alpha Nagar, Second Street, Karumandapam, Trichy – 620 001.

Our healthcare ministry is a direct extension of the "Founding Spirit" of Bishop John Aelen, who believed that the mission of a priest and a sister must embrace every dimension of human life, especially where there is suffering. In our remote villages, we do not merely provide medical treatment; we engage in a Missionary Enterprise of Compassion, reaching out to the modern-day "Panchamas" who are often excluded from quality care due to poverty and geography. Rooted in the patronage of St. Joseph and St. Francis of Assisi, the Protectors, our clinics and outreach programs serve as sanctuaries of Integral Liberation, where the "cry of the poor" is answered with professional excellence and spiritual depth. We maintain a singular emphasis on women and girl children, recognizing that in rural settings, their health is often the last priority; thus, we strive to evoke in them a consciousness of their own self-worth and dignity through maternal care, nutrition, and health education. In remote villages we serve, we work to dismantle the discrimination of neglect, ensuring that radical equality is felt through the touch of a healing hand. Our ministry is a "blazing hope" that offers an alternate way of life—one free from the bondage of preventable illness and the despair of being forgotten—as we journey in total solidarity with the oppressed and the downtrodden.
